About Hood Fighting:
I’m gonna give this an upvote because I see potential in this game, because I sincerely hope this game won’t be another game that gets dropped in the void, never receiving updates. I work in the emergency business myself and coming home to put this into a virtual perspective it quite relaxing sometimes. A lot of different vehicles, interesting callouts and an option to mod the game, that’s a good start. As many other say, this game should be in Early Access and NOT a fully released game just yet, especially not for that amount of money. The current low frames, bugs here and there, I don’t know, It is just something you fix before you release it so publicly. I run on a pretty good rig and I can run hardcore games on 140+ fps whileas this game runs it between 15-25fps unless I look up in the sky. I hope the developers gets a grip and put some good effort into fixing this game because it is really fun in the end. This product does a good job modelling the vehicles and equipment 🙂 But it fails at making a “game” out of it 🙁 There are a variety of scenarios, but everything feels shallow and very similar. Most of the time you just follow very detailed instructions, what item to unload from the vehicle and where to put it. 30 seconds later, everything is done and you are told, in which order to pack stuff back in the vehicle and drive home. There is no feedback, whether you did a good job, or even if you completed all tasks at the site. No progression to more vehicles/equipment or more complex/difficult scenarios. You can not even select, what kind of scenario you want to play, or skip alerts you are currently not interested in. The “game” tries to model everything, but does nothing in detail: – while driving, crashes have no consequences – while fighting fires, there is no limited visibility due to smoke; you don’t have to watch out for you oxygen supply – while handling the pumps, you just turn them one and increase RPM a bit, nothing more to do like setting the correct pressure Furthermore there are technical issues: – FPS suddenly drop below 1 when there are many vehicles around – the AI and your instructions both get stuck, when you do the right things in the wrong order – I tried multiplayer, but there was no filter to find a server with players on it I do like the idea of the command system to handle multiple vehicles/crews at the site. But the implementation did not work very well most of the time 🙁 All in all a lot of potential but a very disappointing implementation. Firefighter Simulator: The Squad is imho a much better game. It has a more limited scope, but manages to make this scope really fun.
